Jackson City School students had an extraordinary opportunity as they stepped into the bustling halls of the Kentucky State Capital, sponsored by Senator Brandon Smith, to serve as pages. Paxton Howard, Philip Dowse, and Tara Strong, admirably undertook various tasks essential to the smooth functioning of the legislative process

"Calling All Tenth Grade Tech Enthusiasts: Apply Now for the DataSeam Apprenticeship Program at JCS!" 

Embark on your journey towards a promising career in technology with the DataSeam Apprenticeship Program at Jackson City School, supported by Dataseam, School-Based Mentors, and the school district. Throughout the two-year program, apprentices will benefit from invaluable resources and support, including an on-site mentor offering daily guidance, monthly evaluations, and constructive feedback to ensure steady progress. Additionally, access to an online technical reference and community message board will foster a collaborative learning environment. With a comprehensive curriculum supplemented by online support, apprentices will be equipped to pursue industry-standard certifications in Linux and Apple systems. This paid position entails a commitment of at least 600 hours of practical work, alongside approximately 300 hours of instruction. Wellness Policy 2023-2024

Jackson City School made history on Saturday, April 13, by hosting its first-ever Robot Gladiator League tournament. The event, which featured four intense matches, marked a significant milestone for our school and showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our students.

In the opening match, Jackson City School faced off against West Carter, securing a decisive victory with a score of 63 to 26. It was a moment of triumph for our students and a testament to their hard work and commitment to excellence. Throughout the tournament, students were fully immersed in hands-on learning experiences, applying their STEM skills and problem-solving abilities to navigate the challenges of the arena. Parents and members of the Jackson City School community were captivated by the ingenuity and creativity displayed by our students, expressing their joy and excitement as they watched them in action.

As we reflect on this historic occasion, we are filled with pride for our students and grateful for the support of our community. We extend our sincere thanks to Gear UP SOAR for their invaluable support in making this event a reality. 

Jackson City School is immensely proud of the achievements of our students and the vibrant spirit of innovation that permeates our school. As we look to the future, we remain committed to fostering a culture of excellence and providing our students with opportunities to shine.

           If you haven't filled out the FAFSA Application yet, we urge you to do so promptly! Visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to complete it ASAP. The earlier you submit your application, the better your chances for college funding opportunities.
